Simon is a partner at Peterreins Schley and an experienced patent litigator with a strong focus on complex national and international patent disputes. He advises our clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious patent law, and has particular expertise in cross-border patent litigation. He regularly represents our clients in patent disputes before all major German patent infringement courts and the Unified Patent Court (UPC).
Throughout his career, Simon has represented clients in complex patent matters across a broad range of industries and technical fields, including telecommunications, electronics, video and network technology, life sciences, mechanical engineering, and automotive technologies. He has extensive experience in litigation involving mobile devices, network infrastructure, broadcasting technologies, and medical devices, as well as in the enforcement of standard-essential patents (SEPs) and the related FRAND defense.
Before joining Peterreins Schley, Simon worked for renowned international law firms in Munich and Zurich. He studied law with a particular focus on intellectual property law at the University of Würzburg and at the University of California, Berkeley. He holds a Ph.D. (Dr. iur.) with a focus on intellectual property law and an LL.M. (UC Berkeley) with specializations in law & technology and business law.
